Although Rodgers Creek does not deny a RV/camper as a livable dwelling, Gilmer County has regulations that property owners must follow. According to Gilmer County Environmental Health Department, there must be an approved septic system hooked to the camper or a portable sanitary unit (portapotty) to allow for a toilet to be available if anyone is staying on the property for longer than two (2) hours. With that being said, our covenants state that a property cannot have an outside toilet. With an approved building permit from Gilmer County Planning and Zoning, a portapotty is allowed. The building permit must stay active for the portapotty to remain on property.
Also, in order to have power to the RV/camper, the property must have an approved septic system and permit to install power to the unit through Gilmer Planning and Zoning. You must also have an approved building permit from Gilmer County Building department.
